More About CD Writers (CDRW)

A CD Writer or CDRW as it is often called, can be gotten at prices as low as $40 on up to over $300. We paid around $200 about 2 years ago. This one would probably be comparable to the $40 one now. It has worked fine for us. They are easily installed by a computer professional (or your 14 year old grandson). Higher priced CDRW’s are a little ‘smarter’ and take some of the headaches out of making cd’s. With our inexpensive CDRW, the only problem I would have at times is if I tried to do other things on the computer at the same time that I was writing the CD, it would slow or interrupt the flow of information to the CDRW and would abort the process. With my newer computer I have rarely had problems of that sort.
